Thirteen Cartoons My Children Watch That Make Me Stabby

I’m forced to watch many things, but these are the ones that have the earphones out and Metallica on full blast.

1. Flapjack
OMG, this is the one of the most disgusting and unfunny cartoons my children watch. They love it. Of course.
2. Billy And Mandy
Yeah, it used to be kind of amusing, but then it just got weird and kind of gross.
3. Courage The Cowardly Dog
Here’s another one that used to be kind of funny and then just got really weird and gross. What’s up with that?
4. Lazy Town
*shudders* Somehow, this one always brings to mind child molesters.
5. The New Batman
Yuck. As one who was raised on the REAL comic books, this is pretty awful.
6. The Clone Wars
I’ll actually fight with the boys to turn this off. I hate it. I’m a huge Starwars fan. This takes liberties.
7. The League of SuperEvil
It’s sooooooo stupid. Really. But the kids think it’s funny.
8. Tom And Jerry
I didn’t like it when I was a kid either. I was a Bugs Bunny fan.
9. Max and Ruby
I think they watch this one now because they know I can’t stand it.
10. Thomas The Tank Engine
Only because I’ve watched so much of it.
11. Fairly Odd Parents
I thought it was cute until I’d seen every episode FIFTY MILLION TIMES. *shudders*
12. Chowder
This is another cartoon I liked for a little while. Lately, again, crude, nasty and gross. Yuck.
13. Ed, Edd and Eddy
Awful. These guys are NOT funny.

  1. I can honestly say that I haven’t seen most of these. It sounds like I’m lucky. 😉

  2. I’ve never understood cartoons. I think I’m the only one in the world that doesn’t enjoy them … period. Not even as a kid. It’s a wierdness I’ve learned to live with. 😉

  3. Except for Tom and Jerry, I’ve never seen any of these. Of course, I also don’t have kids, so it’s to be expected.

At least they aren’t watching the purple dinosaur show or those weird little tinky winkies.

  4. I’ve seen a few of those, and I tend to agree with you on all of them.

Does anyone remember Rocko’s Modern Life? That one bordered on surreal, at times. I loved it! Heck, even Johnny Bravo was better than most of the dreck on, nowadays…

    …sigh…
    Bugs Bunny forever, y’all!

    Happy TT!
    Ciao!

  5. Jen

I’m with you, Ms. Menozzi! Bugs Bunny forever!

  6. Kym

:plaintively: But I like Tom and Jerry!

  7. Shawna

LOL! I hear you. D4 loves Lazy Town, I just don’t get it. And Maxy and Ruby? Please! I make them turn Ed, Edd and Eddy off, the graphics hurt my eyes and the dialogue freezes my brain. Have you seen Yo Gabba Gabba? It’s scary. But then that’s a little young for your lot. : )

  8. Thank goodness my kids are past this stage, now I get family guy and the simpsons lol Happy T13!

  9. melsmag

I’ve never seen half if not most of those. I don’t think I’d want to either. LOL.

  10. Eric Kirk

My son can’t miss Clone Wars on Friday evening. He also likes Ben Ten and the Batman show.

It’s not the cartoons my kids watch that get on my nerves. I actually kind of like Max and Ruby. Something about the dry humor. The shows that drive me up the wall are Hannah Montana, I Carly, and the one with the blond twins in the hotel.

  11. Oh, man, I could quote you verbatim on this list! When do they out grow it? Argh!

  12. I’d have to add Phineas and Ferb to that list. My nephew loves it. There are a few more too. But it’s mostly the “real people” shows. Hannah Montana, Suite Life/Suite Life on Deck, iCarly.

The prob – he likes to watch tv in my room (I have tivo). We argue over his shows and my shows when he comes over. Especially when he takes liberties and changes my channel w/o permission.

  13. Since I have a son, I have seen most of these.

    Guess what?

Um…I watch Clone Wars…I DVR the show, in fact.

  14. I like Thomas – but I so hear you about Lazy Town.

  15. Oh man, I can soooo sympathize with you. The Cowardly Dog especially makes me want to bang my head against the wall. ARGH! *hugs*

  16. LOL! Haven’t watched Clone Wars, but saw an ad for it and thought it looked cool!

    *hugs*

  17. Jen

Next Thursday I should do the cartoons I find myself watching even when the kids aren’t. LOL.

  18. Oh, yes, Yo Gabba Gabba is scary. And I have the Wonder Pets theme stuck in my head.

  19. Jen

OMG The Wonder Pets! *head bang*
I have to say that even MY children were afraid of Yo Gabba Gabba! LOL.

  20. Never seen any of these, either, except a few Tom & Jerry episodes.

Personally, the only cartoons I liked as a kid (or a teenager, even), were X-Men, Gargoyles (I’d watch this one still if they had it on! hehe) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Tturtles, LOL. Yeah, I’m weird.

  21. Shawna

LOL, Jamiebabette, as soon as I saw the words Wonder Pets, the theme got stuck in my head.

Please do Jen! There are plenty of cartoons I watch when the kids aren’t in the room. The Avatar is one of them.

  22. So… yeah I like half the shows on this list but I’m not going to say which ones. I want to avoid flying rotten veggies at all costs!

  23. Hmmmm maybe I wan wean my wee ones on Monty Python.

  24. I like Tom & Jerry, but Bugs, Daffy and the gang rule!

  25. I must really be getting old. The only one I’ve heard of is Tom and Jerry. 😦

  26. jodi

ugh. hanna barbera and warner bros cartoons. I’m with Eric. I like Max and Ruby. 🙂

  27. Janice Seagraves

I don’t have cable or satellite TV, thank God, and I don’t see these new cartoons except at other peoples houses. Any way my daughter has moved on to Japanese Anime that we own or rent.

I’m with you, long live Bugs bunny!

    Happy TT,
    Janice~

  28. What about Sportacus (Lazy Town)? That man looks HAWT in tights. You can also stomach the puppet techno for that man!!!

  29. Shawna

Sandi, okay, I’ll confess. I do think Sportacus is hot… it’s that accent. But the rest… scary!
