Thirteen Work In Progress Files On My Hard Drive

I do this every once and while just to try and clarify it all in my head. It shows what a complete squirrel I am. LOL!
1. MARKED FOR LOVE
This is the final book in the Marked series I’ve written for Loose-Id. It’s been a pain in the ass, but I’m about halfway through it.
2. THE HEART SHE HOLDS
Yes, this is still on my hard drive. It’s the next book after “The Christmas She Rules” and a fem domme. I received two rejections for this sucker, found out it needed a complete overhaul and put it off until I had some time to really dig into it.
3. BROTHER OF ARUNDALE HALL
I’m dying to get started on this book, but I have to finish #1 first. This is Perry’s story.
4. COMMANDED TO CONSENT
My Command Series at Liquid Silver has been the most difficult series to pin down. It’s had several books that started and then went nowhere. I’m not sure whether this one-the story of Shasta’s rejected lover from “Commanded To Dream”–is going to die the death of obscurity or not.
5. SO THE GODS CAN SEE
I really wanted this book to fly, but it never solidified. The basic story is there. It’s the very, very beginning before “Dark Revenge” and was conceived long before the Terran series. Sometimes, the story is there but the book just doesn’t gel. I hate it when that happens.
6. A TIME TO LAUGH
Okay. What happens when I write a futuristic romance with time travel…to the future of THEIR future? This hot mess that I really wish I had the chops to fix. Maybe someday.
7. A GRAIN OF SAND
I love this story! It’s half done, but the second half was so nebulous and the direction so fuzzy, I had to leave it alone. Unfortunately, that one hasn’t clarified. I wish it would. The heroine is awesome.
8. COMMANDED TO LIVE
Matthew’s story that was put on hold until I clarified Kinley’s part in the whole thing.
9. DECLARATION TO SUBMIT
The premise of this story was a bit tricky. I kind of abandoned it because I’m not sure if I can work it. The idea that a woman would sign an employee agreement with a clause regarding sexual submission and basically shrug thinking “It doesn’t apply to me” is a bit far fetched. But then, I’ve signed employee agreements and had only a vague idea what was in it. My heroine, however, isn’t that stupid. She reads it, is intrigued by it, and signs it despite reservations. It’s an interesting premise but it requires a deft touch I’m not sure I have at the moment.
10. AN ALIEN SKY
I’m not sure what happened to this story. I think the conflict got messed up somehow. I left that one alone too.
11. ISLAND OF PREY
Again, the conflict became confused. One lesson I’ve learned in the last year is that I over do the conflict. It smells like desperation. This story is one I wish I could straighten out. The trick to any of these stories is making the unbelievable believable. It’s tougher to do with a contemporary.
12. SINDAR
The man who sees the prophecies featured in the Marked series does have his own story. How he ends up with the Naridians. How he falls in love with a woman who doesn’t believe in him. How he has to discover his ancestral heritage to defeat those who want to use him and control the future….It’s a great story….if I ever get to it. LOL!
13. BASTARD OF ARUNDALE HALL
This is Lord Everett’s story. He must return to his inheritance and reclaim the title he’d been denied and deal with a run down estate. Of course, he has no interest in love since his mate, Derek, died in “Wolf of Arundale Hall”. But grief doesn’t last forever and a man who has always loved him comes to find him, to help him. The story hinges around Lady North’s continued need to destroy the Arundale name and she plans to use Lord Everett to discredit them all. It’s going to be a great story…..when I can get to write it. LOL!

There they are. Sitting on my hard drive….waiting…..
