Thirteen Reasons I Love My New Job

Rough couple of weeks. But I wanted to give a little positive light on my new job.

1. The Guys
Most of the people I deal with are hard working, rough men who don’t have time to do piddly things like get their mail. A lot of them are on the road, working on jobs building pipelines, stopping oil spills, building roads.
2. The few women
I’ve rarely met a better bunch of people than the ones in this organization.
3. My Boss
He’s hilarious. And patient.
4. My Big Boss
Who trains me. She ROCKS.
5. The solitude
I get to have quite a bit of “just me” time even though the phone rings a lot and it’s busy sometimes
6. The Challenge
It’s varied, interesting, never boring.
7. The flexibility
Though I’m the only one, I have an easier time taking time off than when I was a CNA in a hospital.
8. My co-worker
She works in the office next door (different organization) but we work together to help people.
9. The hours
I don’t work weekends and I’m off at 5pm
10. The Holidays
I get holidays OFF! I think that’s first job I’ve had like that.
11. The Pay
I’m earning it. Trust me.
12. The routine
13. The Time Away from the insanity at home
Okay, ONE negative thing on the list. LOL!!!!!!!

  11. People used to ask me, why do you work ? (When my kids were small) To that I replied, sanity. lol

I’m glad you like your new job. I know it is challenging, but it sounds rewarding too. Make sure to keep that muse around though. I’d hate to think I will lose out on my reading material! I just want you to know that I miss you. Yes, I know that’s my fault, but still. Love ya ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. I love it when I can have a few hours of quiet all to myself at work – like this afternoon. Here’s hoping you have a good (and dry!) weekend. We’re finally supposed to have sun here, but still have to contend with the wind.

  14. Congrats on the new job, and kudos to you for looking at the positive aspects. I need to try to do the same for my job, especially after the week I’ve just had.
