Mondays are notoriously difficult for this redneck household, so I’m going to start a new weekly spot for my blog. Often, I have various things to say to various folks.
Dear February 1st Arkley Center Audience,
I’d like to express my disappointment in the reception you gave The Manhattan Transfer when they SANG THEIR GUTS OUT for you. Most of you (but thankfully not all of you) sat back with an attitude of “entertain me”. You weren’t watching a movie. You were experiencing an Icon. Okay, I’m biased, but jeez! Couldn’t you give them a little more than polite applause? You know, when they said they were cold on stage, I don’t think they were referring to the weather.
And to the old couple forced to sit next to me and the stuffed shirts in front of me, I’m afraid I’m not sorry I whistled and wooted in your ears.
Just Sayin’
To The New York Giants,
WAY TO GO!!! Thank you for giving us a kick ass game. Most of all, thank you Plexico Burress for being the class act that you are and making the winning catch WITHOUT the taunting and dancing. (*cough Randy Moss cough*)
Eli, you ROCK. The underdogs did it and I didn’t think they could. Impressive boys.
Just sayin’
Dear John McCain,
After watching the Republican debates last week, I’d like to say to you, DON’T BE A DICK! I know that you believe Mitt Romney is an ass. It’s an opinion I share but damn it, don’t belabor the point. Let Romney show he is. Go negative and you’ll lose the one thing you’ve given some of us. You’ll lose your grip on hope.
If, in the general election, you go up against the charismatic Barack Obama, negativity and divisiveness will destroy you. Be aware that we are watching closely. You’re not home free by a long chalk. Don’t screw it up.
Just sayin’
Dear Barack Obama,
Remember that picture of your back to Hillary Clinton? Remember the media frenzy? That’s only the beginning. So far, the press has been captivated by your energy, your hopeful message and your charisma. But the time is coming where they’ll start digging. It’s what they do. If there’s any dirt, Mr. Obama, cop to it now. Do NOT wait until someone else spins it against you.
Just sayin’
Dear Rush Limbaugh and the Ultra Conservative Right,
Damn it, SHUT UP!!!! You don’t like McCain. You don’t like his ability to stand up to your shrill unreasonable demands. Too bad. You are NOT the Republican party. You are the reason we lost Congress. You’re the reason the middle class has turned away. McCain has stayed constant. Regardless of your opinion of some of his politics, Mitt Romney is not constant. Do you want a president that will take a poll before he makes a decision? Of course you do. Then, you can control whoever is in power. But you are not in charge, the people are. We are the voters and WE are in charge of who becomes the next president. Stop trying to pretend that a minority in a troubled party controls U.S. politics. Come February 5th, I intend to vote and prove you wrong. Do the party some good. Focus on what’s best for the American people, not what’s best for your pet projects.
Just sayin’

Hey, I’m with the ultra progressive side and I still say, “Rush Limbaugh, shut up!” I always disliked him but when he started making personal attacks on Chelsea Clinton whose only crime was to have a father in politics, I wrote him off as slime.”

No kidding Kym. He’s such a bad representative of conservative ideas. But then, it’s hard to find GOOD representatives these days.
I’m beginning to think Obama may be our only true option, but I’m cynical enough to still doubt him.

Tomorrow should be interesting. I’m not too keen on Barack or Hilary. Well, I kinda like them both. Hilary probably edges out because she’s battled for health care for over a decade already.
I don’t know. I’ve pretty much lost my enthusiasm for politics, LOL.

You’ve always got an interesting perspective and a great way of getting your points across . . . Just sayin’

Love your letters, Jen. You’ve got a great way of putting it all out there! Hope you were able to enjoy the concert even if those around you weren’t quite into it. I know you were really looking forward to it!

Well, Spy, this is the time to start watching some of the politics. It’s been very interesting. As a straight middle of the road moderate, I find the pressures at work now fascinating.
And Steve, thanks.
Nina, I had a good time anyway but the Redneck and I were…..loud in our appreciation. LOL.

Aw, I missed this yesterday. Great idea, Jen. Love it.
