So, last night was the first sleepover for Train Boy. Well, the first planned one. Once, we had a neighbor kid just STAY overnight, but that’s different. This one actually involved a plan, a phone call between parents and a whole week of anticipation.
Why is it that all the fun stuff for my boys involves loss of sleep?
Yep, by the time they went to bed (midnight) I’d managed to make my cough (persistent head cold) worse and finally fell asleep at five A.M…….only to be awoken by the dogs at six-thirty.
But it’s GIRL DAY. Nothing will stop the Michellanator dragging my sorry ass off to have my nails done and enjoy the peace and quiet of the mall. (Compared to my house, a construction site is quiet!).
It’s been a little tough on Demolition Boy. His friend wasn’t able to make it this weekend. Poor kid. I’ve tried to make it up to him, but nothing has worked so far.
Wish me luck. I’m hoping to be able to stay awake for GIRL DAY.

Sleepovers are so fun! I still go to them on occasion. Of course, I can imagine it is hard to sleep with a bunch of giggling boys downstairs.

Get a pedicure instead of a manicure. Then you can fall asleep in the massage chair.

Happy Girl Day! I need a mani/pedi myself. I’m gonna hit the beach in Kauai soon and the last pedi’s barely hanging in there. PS . . . Believe me, I understand sleep deprivation. I’m on my second cup of coffee already.

awwww…i know what you mean..my friends always think that what i need is to GO OUT…when what i realllly need….is to sleep….for oh…i dunno…like 15 hours…right in a row……in the same time zone… good luck…and at least youll feel pretty when you finally do crash!

Give Demolition Boy an extra cookie. I always hated when my middle son got left out when his big brother was doing something. On big brother’s first day of school, middle son leaned against the classroom door crying, “I wanna wearn. I wanna wearn.” I wanted to make the school let him go to class but even mamas have to learn to shutup sometimes!

Hey Lothian! I used to love sleepovers too. I just don’t like being the ADULT during sleepovers. LOL.

Casdok, I think I managed and I slept like a log last night.

LOL Kym! I was the youngest of three, so I tend to feel compassion for my youngest. But it’s got to suck being Train Boy with your friend and having your little brother in your face too. I try and see both sides.
Babe, you need a best girl friend who doesn’t need a plane ticket to whisk you away. Wish I could do it.

Oooh, Girl Day should be a national holiday. No females should have to work and every woman would have a minimum of $50 to spend on themselves!
