Thirteen Reasons To Buy “Taking Command” (Shameless Promotion)

I know. Shameless hussy that I am, I’m doing my Thursday Thirteen about my upcoming release, “Taking Command”. It’s coming out January 14th, so I only have a week to let you know it’s coming. This book took me a long time to craft, but I’m very proud of the results.

1. The Virtual Fantasy Room
Set in the future, “Taking Command” features my favorite invention. The VFR is a cross between the Halodeck on Star Trek and virtual therapy. Imagine a place where you can imagine you’re wildest fantasy and the computer adds according to your psyche evaluation.

2. Captain Jake Tarune
Military all the way. He’s alpha and SEXY.

3. Daniella Pierce
She’s a kick ass heroine who works as a mechanic. There’s nothing weak about Dani. But she’s a mixture of tough and submissive. I loved writing her.

4. Sashina Matins
She’s a secondary character with an ATTITUDE. That woman gave me more trouble than all the other characters combined. She wants her own book. I won’t give her one. LOL.

5. The Ang
My first attempt at aliens. The whole time I wrote them, I kept remembering a scientist I saw on the Discovery channel who said that we had an ethnocentric view of Earth. We thought all aliens would be two legged creatures with two eyes. But that is a unique evolutionary development of our planet. The Ang were influenced by that overriding thought.

6. The Interrogation Scene
When Jake informed me that this was one of his fantasies my initial reaction was “No Way!!!!” I thought this role playing was too weird, too violent. But Daniella has a thing for it and LOVES the way Jake plays. Consequently, I ended up loving it too. BUT it did push my boundaries a bit. The scene is awesome, but tricky. It took ALL of my concentration.

7. The Villain
He was…..unexpected. I’m not finished with him yet. His character was barely visible in the book, but there is a labyrinth beneath the surface I want to delve into.

8. Paul Lestrano
He’s a James Bond type with a streak of compassion. He’s all about the job. His role in this book is pretty small, but he gets the sequel. He’s one of those shadow people who doesn’t know how to deal with the light.

9. It’s HOT
Um, yeah. There’s enough sex for anyone. With a VFR, you can imagine the possibilities. It opens with a sex scene and ends with one with lots in between. Definitely smokin’

10. It’s my first contract with Liquid Silver
I’m hoping to make a good showing with them. They’re an awesome publisher.

11. It’s my first Erotic Romance Novel
I’ve written short erotic stories. This is my very first full length novel.

12. Did I mention it’s HOT?
LOL

And finally 13. You LOVE me! Right? Anyone? Bueller?
