It sounds like a fun day, Jennifer, and actually quite similar to our get togethers here in New Zealand. My hubby is a big BBQ fan, and so our meals usually revolve around that with lots of yummy desserts. Oh, and we’re usually all yelling at my MIL to sit down and rest. She drives us all crazy fussing and ends up tired if we let her.

LOL, Law Girl. That sounds VERY familiar. Well, it’s a little before 2pm and I’ve started on the whiskey already. The prevention thing.
VBC, my house resembles a hodgepodge of Humboldt Living. We’re a patchwork family with all the dysfunction any family would want. The good thing is no one feels the need to pass out on the lawn.
Jodi, I don’t know why I never got burned out. My mom used to do massive Thanksgiving dinners. I love ‘em.
But sleeping all day sounds good.

I’m working. I also–in a fit of economical madness–bought two store-roasted chickens on monday, and if I see another piece of poultry between now and next friday, I’ll puke.

I might drive through Taco Bell. I think my kid is heating up some Bagel Bites, and my husband plans on sleeping until tomorrow. I’m also ducking phone calls wishing me a happy thanksgiving. Thanksgiving means a lot more to other people…

…must be all those family parties I went to as a kid. Kind of burned me out.

Well, this year, Thanksgiving looks like some kind of strange house party. There are three or four teenagers, three or four old people and mostly people our age. Everyone’s dressed and pressed. The wine will be opened after the old people leave and the young people get on the telephone. There may or may not be some hot tubbing with the wine. Oh, yeah, and I forgot- the good china and crystal come out for Thanksgiving at WH’s house. My peeps just use Styrofoam trays.

Hmm, we have the same kind of thing at my mother’s house only we watch Christmas Vacation instead of A Christmas Story. Seems more of a fitting movie for my family, I supose I hope you have a wonderful time and have MANY helpers left over to clean up for you!
